Jaques Staunton Weighted Boxwood & Ebony Chess Set, early 1900s

both kings stamped JAQUES LONDON in red along the base rim, in a mahogany box with divide and green label: J. JAQUES & SON, LTD, London, England (Howard Staunton's facsimile signature and Fleur de Lys border).

King: 3.5 inches (9cm) high
Pawn: 4.6cm high
Box: 20cm wide, 16cm deep, 9.2cm high.

Alan Fersht in his 'Jaques and British Chess Company Chess Sets' (2010) dates the label to the early 1900s.
