A Jaques weighted boxwood and ebony chess set, circa 1870

the white king stamped "JAQUES LONDON" on the rim of the base, the king 4½ inches (11.5cm) high, the pawn 2 ¼ inches (5.5cm) high, in a mahogany box with a hinged lid, 21.6cm wide.
