A 19th century antique ivory chess set from Delhi, India. These sets would have been made for export to Great Britain. One side is stained in a delicate pink (using cochineal dye), and the other side has ivory in a bleached white. The set comes in an immaculate presentation case which has been made especially for the chess set.
