Spendid original American circus poster dating from the pre-War period. Cole Brothers Circus was founded in 1884, and still exists today. This poster was important stock advertising, used by Cole Bros. Circus during the late 1930s and early 1940s.
The image featured is believed to be based upon a photographic still of The Great Gretona troupe, rather than ‘The Great Grimes’ (a troupe which actually did not exist).
