Highly unusual Indian carved ivory part-chess set of small or miniature size. The king comes in at just under 4cm high. Made in Benares during the 19th century, this set is also similar in style to the famous chess sets of Rajasthan. The queens are represented by ‘viziers’ or princes riding elephants. 19 pieces in total.
