Born in 1886, William Petty Fortson was a vaudeville musician, drummer, magician and ventriloquist from Little Rock, Arkansas. This rare- and quirky- poster dating from the early years of the 20th century depicts Fortson in evening dress surrounded by his ventriloquist puppets. The Donaldson Lithographing Company of Kentucky were known for their colourful circus posters.
