jaques-rosewood-chess-board-circa-1890

Really lovely example of a desirable antiques Jaques Board. The chess squares measure just under 6cm across.

Jaques was founded in 1795 and from 1849 held exclusive rights over the famous Staunton chess set design. Considered by collectors to be the “Rolls-Royce” of chess manufacturers, Jaques chess sets and boards are now avidly sought after by collectors and players. The reverse panel features the ‘Jaques London” trademark transfer in a gilt copper plate.
