a-staunton-boxwood-and-ebony-chess-set-and-board-circa-1900

A very pretty little chess set in the Staunton style, dating to the late Victorian/Edwardian period. It's being sold with an interesting chess board (4cm squares) which is probably a little bit later in date. The board has an unusual raised border or frame, making this set ideal if you're looking for a substantial, but practical, chess set that could be used, say, during an aeroplane or train journey. It would make a lovely and stylish present for an enthusiastic chess player.
