a-fornasetti-vase

April 15, 2013

I've been a huge fan of Fornasetti, for as long as I can remember. Piero Fornasetti (1913-1988) was an Italian designer, artist and interior designer. His work is hallmarked by an extraordinary sense of humour coupled with exquisite style and Italian flair. This vase has an interesting story. Routing around his workshop, Piero's son, Barnada, unearthed a plaster cast his father had designed for a vase back in the 1950's. It had never been used.

Barnada teamed up with Bistossi ceramics to make a limited edition of this very vase and I'm selling a good example of one, in excellent condition. A must for serious Fornasetti collectors.
