dublin-palisander-wood-chess-set-19th-century

Interesting variation on the pre-Staunton “Dublin Pattern’, which includes a large ball finial on the queen. The Dublin Pattern came into use during the 1820’ s. This set features unusual tear-drop finials and multi-knopped centre sections. One side is made from palisander wood- a form of rosewood, and displays attractive chocolate brown and black figuring.
