C. G. Lewis includes a chapter on similar 19th century Siege games in his fascinating book, Wargames and their History. Beleaguering-Spiel (or The Game of Siege) first appeared at the very end of the 18th century and was based on the ancient game of Fox and Geese. This particular games features evocative graphics from the Crimean War, and depicts the alliance between France, Turkey and Great Britain.
