An outstanding chess set from an acknowledged private collection. These sets were made in Berhempore for export by the British East India Company to Great Britain during the first half of the 19th century. The rooks have cannons and are mounted with figures bearing flags. The set is finely carved and in lovely condition. Recommended. Please contact me for the price.
