Decent Jaques Staunton from the 1920s- 30s period, with the king coming in at just under 4 inches high. This classic pattern was first patented by the firm of Jaques (London) in 1849. This new pattern was a deliberate attempt to standardise the design of chess sets for international tournament play.
The width of the King's base is 4.6cm.
