Unusually large puzzle-ball set with the king coming in at just under ten and a half inches tall. These sets were made in the Hongs of Canton for export to Great Britain and the West. The Canton trade fell into decline from the mid 19th century onwards when the British established tea plantations in Ceylon and the Americans opened up further trade ports in China.
