staunton-chess-set-circa-1920-30

A nice little Staunton set dating from the early years of the 20th century. The Staunton pattern was invented in 1849, in an attempt to standardise the various international- and conflicting- patterns in use during the 19th century.

The knights on this set are similar to the chess designs of Richard Whitty of Liverpool. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
