Very late Victorian or Edwardian luxury travelling chess set in red Morocco. Patent sets like these are becoming increasingly rare. Not stamped by J. C. Vickery of Regent Street, but near-identical to a Vickery travelling set. Lovely quality.

The pegged chessmen are made from polished cow-bone, so the set can be exported to the United States.
