one side with bases stained brick red, kings as European monarchs in wigs and crown bearing a sword, queens as consorts with crown and sceptre, bishops wearing ti-corn hats, knights as seahorses, rooks as raised turrets, pawns with petalled knops, in the original black stained wooden presentation/display case with a sliding front
