A Staunton Boxwood and Ebony Chess Set by J. Jaques & Son Ltd, circa 1925

both kings stamped “Jaques London” in red on the rim of the bases, the king 9cm (3 1/2 inches) high, the pawn 4.9cm (approx 2 inches) high, in a mahogany box with a sliding lid and yellow label (plaid border): J. Jaques & Son Ltd., London, England and retail label Grenville Birmingham to the side.
