A De Luxe Leather Backgammon Set, as retailed by Dunhill, 1970s
in the form of a hinged leather-bound book/board, the blue leather with elaborate gilt tooling, and marbled ‘page’ edges, the book ‘spines’ titled Ludus Anglicorum, the exterior for chess (with alternate squares in blue and tan), the interior for backgammon, including a set of celluloid backgammon counters in red and white, one blue leather shaker and four celluloid dice (including doubling up cube): all contained within a blue and gilt-tooled leather box.
