An English Victorian Games Compendium, circa 1870/80
the hinged oak case mounted with decorative brass mounts and raised on bun feet, the fitted interior including: a set of bone dominoes, an ebony and boxwood Staunton chess set (with 'ebonised' knight horse heads), a set of turned 30 boxwood counters, three antique composite dice, scoring board, nicely turned wooden shaker, two packs of miniature cards for patience (dating from the 1930s), folding wooden board for Chess and Halma, a quantity of celluloid gaming counters, and a set of wooden Halma pieces in red, green, yellow and black, (the case with original key)

Good. The lid has four decorative grooves to the lid. Signs of revarnishing to the case. Original key.
A Note From Luke
Nice example of a decorative mid/late Victorian Games Compendium, with the original key. The games include Halma and Chess, and comes with two packs of miniature playing cards for Patience (but from a later date).
