An Elegant Danish “Selenus” Bone Chess Set, circa 1790
one side stained red, the other side left natural, kings with double galleries and acorn finials, queens, similar, but of smaller size, bishops with cogged slanting caps, knights as raised horses’s heads, rooks as monobloc turrets with spire finials

Stain faded on bishop stem and finial. Stain faded on other bishop finial. Stain faded on knight stem. Stain a bit rubbed on one pawn baluster.
Bone stratifications visible to surface, small crack on rook base, and hairline crack to the other rook. One ear chipped on knight.
