An Early English Ivory and Ebony Chess Set, 17th century
kings and queen with wide, splayed bases, kings surmounted with reeded oval finials, queens with ball finials, bishops with open mitres, knights with cleft or wedge finials, rooks of baluster shape with flat tops, pawns of baluster shape with ball finials. Rare.
King: 5cm high
Pawn: 4.8cm high
