Green baize bases a bit faded and rubbed around the edges. Otherwise ‘very good’.
Small chip to black king cross. Chip to base rim of black king. Green baize bases a bit faded and rubbed around the edges.
Mahogany a light brown orange colour, varnish a bit rubbed. Green label “good”, but with a few dings. Baize interior ‘very good’.

Classic “Four Inch” chess set from the famous old firm of Jaques, London; these days, eminently collectable. We can date these sets accurately from the label and the style of knight (knights of the later period sets tend to have more of a square jaw). The official tournament chess set.
