A late Victorian or Edwardian luxury travelling chess set in red Morocco. Patent sets like these are becoming increasingly rare. Not stamped by J. C. Vickery of Regent Street, but near-identical to a Vickery travelling set. Lovely quality.
The pegged chessmen are made from polished cow-bone, so the set can be exported to the United States.
