The board has been fitted with a new lock and key, and comes with a specially made wooden tray, which has been made a later date. There are the usual minor surface nicks, minor scratches and hairline cracks as to be expected.
The chess set is in a good condition, but again, has the usual minor scuffs and rubbing. One red pawn finial has broken off and been re-stuck on with glue. The stem of the black king looks like it has been replaced, or at least re-stained. It’s a hand turned set so there are the usual slight variations in the height and size of the pieces.
