A “Dublin Pattern” palisander and boxwood chess set, 19th century

kings with ‘tear-drop’ finials, queens with large ball tops, bishops as mitres, knights as horses’ heads, rooks as turrets or castles, pawns with ball finials, the king 12cm high, the pawn 4.4cm high, in a 19th century wooden box with a sliding lid, 17.6cm wide.
