An Antique Chinese Export Cantonese Ivory Chess Set in the Staunton style, circa 1850-1900

one side stained red, the other side left natural, kings surmounted with crosses, knights with spiked manes and bearing teeth, in a Chinese wooden box with a folding lid, together with a late 19th century folding leather chess board, with back and red squares, tooled in gilt and with a blind-stamped Greek Key pattern border (2) 

King: 10cm high

Pawn: 4.3cm high

Board: 45cm x 45cm (when open, each chess square 5cm wide)
