one side stained red, the other side left natural, kings surmounted with pierced crosses, queens with feather finials over reeded balls, bishops with split mitres and crosses, knights as carved horses' heads with flared nostrils, rooks as reeded turrets, pawns with knops and reeded ball finials

Pawn: 4.6cm high
