An Anglo-Indian hinged coromandel board/box for chess, backgammon and trick-trac, circa 1800

the exterior for chess, the interior for backgammon, with inlaid ivory ’scoring pegs’ to the edges, the alternate chess squares in boxwood and coromandel, the backgammon points inlaid with ivory and ebony, with ivory, ebony and boxwood inlaid ‘star’ shaped motifs, 46cm wide, 38.5cm deep, 5cm high  (when open), (the chess squares each 4.4cm wide), sold with a set of 30 contemporary wooden backgammon counters, two ‘leatherette’ shakers, four dice and a doubling up cube.
