the strap-work decorated wooden box with a motif of two gentlemen playing chess to the hinged lid, a pull out drawer, and two similar Nuremberg ‘Toy’ painted wooden chess sets, both with painted faces to the King, Queen, and Bishops, bishops with feather finials, knights as horses’ heads, rooks as raised turrets with brickwork; one set painted red and black, the other set yellow and black, together with a folding wooden campaign chess board and 24 boxwood and ebony counters [Two chess sets, one folding campaign chess board, one set of counters]
