British Chess Company Board, circa 1895

A rosewood and boxwood inlaid chessboard by the British Chess Company, the alternate chess squares in rosewood and boxwood, with a mahogany edge or border, stamped: BRITISH CHESS CO… STROUD…GLOS to the top and bottom of the border, inset pine panel to the back, 51cm wide (the chess squares 5.5cm wide). The back inscribed: "J. Williams…49 Victoria Road, Wrexham…March 1902"…"J. Williams' Board".
