A Burmese Carved Wooden Figural Chess Set, 18th/19th century

one side with traces of red lacquer, Kings in a seated position, Queens similar but of a different size, Bishops as elephants, Knights as horsemen, Rooks as temples, Pawns seated in the Lotus position [32 pieces].

King: 6.1cm high

Pawn: 4cm high
