The Game of Siege (Belagerungs-Spiel or Jeu de Siege), French, 1850’s
folding card board with hand-coloured lithographed graphics depicting the Crimean Alliance of France, Turkey and England, with two black wooden men and 24 wooden turned men (left natural), in the original lithographed card box showing an attack on a fort by the French army and Turkish zouaves (one side missing), and two facsimile instruction sheets in French and German, the board 37cm wide (when open flat), wooden men 5.4cm high, box 20.5cm wide.
