An English “Jaques Style” wooden chess board, mid/late 19th century
the alternate squares in rosewood and boxwood, with raised mahogany borders, stained pine panel to the reverse (with remains of a 19th century trade or inventory label), the board 40.5cm wide, the squares 4.7cm wide.
