An Oustanding Anglo-Indian Export Ivory Chess Set of Large Size, Berhempore, circa 1830

one side stained red, the other side left natural, kings with elaborate carved foliate decoration and pierced crowns with cross finials, queens of smaller size and surmounted with floral roundels, bishops with pierced mitres, knights as rearing horses, rooks as turrets with multiple defensive cannons and surmounted with foot-soldiers bearing flags, in a modern bespoke fitted presentation attache case in red

King: 13cm high
