A French mahogany games board/box, 19th century

the exterior for chess, the interior for backgammon or tric-trac, the alternate chess squares in satin-birch and ebony, the backgammon points in satin-birch and harewood against ebony, scoring peg-holes to the outer borders, together with a set of 30 turned wooden counters in ebony and boxwood (each 4.8cm wide), and a French “Regence Pattern” fruitwood and boxwood chess set, the king 9.5cm high, the pawn 4.7cm high; a turned boxwood shaker and two die, the board/box 71.5cm wide (when open).
