A Good Antique Chess Board by Bussey, London, Late 19th Century

the alternate mahogany and sycamore chess squares within a raised mahogany border, further ebony stringing, with maker's oval label: BUSSEY, G. G. B. (with arrow) LONDON.

Dimensions: 44cm wide, 3.5cm high, Chess Squares: 4.4cm wide.

Reference: G. G. Bussey, founded 1864, manufacturer of polo, cricket, croquet and tennis equipment. The Bussey trademark (with arrow) was adopted in 1885.

Condition: A nice solid board of impeccable quality by a famous London maker. A few minor scuffs to surface and wear to original green baize edging on the reverse. Minor staining.
