An Interesting German Bone 'Selenus Pattern' Chess Set, Early 19th Century
one side stained brown, the other side left natural, kings with featured 'urns' and reeded feather finials, queens similar but more slender in shape, bishops with slender baluster columns, rooks as cylindrical turrets, pawns with baluster shaped columns and tear finials, in a hinged wooden box of later date with a lid
King: 9.3cm high, base diameter 2.1cm
