A Jaques Staunton Boxwood & Ebony Weighted Chess Set, circa 1915-20
both kings stamped JAQUES LONDON on the rim of the King base, chessmen with green baizes to the underside, knight and rook with red crown, in a baize lined, mahogany box with Jaques green label ('coiled border') and divide.
King: 9cm (3.5 inches) high.
Pawn: 5cm high.
Box: 20cm x 15.4cm x 9cm.

Condition
Boxwood Side:
Good. Nice toffee colour.
Ebony Side:
Red crowns slightly rubbed, tiny chip to base edge of black bishop, repair to bishop finials and knights ears (near invisible),
Box:
Wear and some loss to Green Label (plus owner's signature in ink). Hairline crack across top, some wear to green baize lining, no key.
