A really good example of a later 19th century "History of England" board/box for chess and backgammon. These are increasingly hard to find in decent condition, and we only try and source excellent examples. This style of board- like an antiquarian book that can be stowed away on the shelf, was popular at the end of the 19th, and beginning of the 20th centuries.

We can provide appropriate counters, die, doubling up cubes and shakers on request. Please don't hesitate to ask.
