Mrs W. J. Baird, born Edith Helen Winter Wood in 1859, was an extraordinary woman. She was one of the most prolific chess composers in the world, creating more than 2,000 problems in her lifetime. Her book, Seven Hundred Chess Problems, first published in 1902, took her fourteen years to complete. We are delighted to offer this very book for sale, in the scarce first edition.
