Unusual antique Indian chess set, presumably made for export to Europe. Sold with a silk and cotton cloth board. The chessmen are raised on high columns, not unlike the British Edinburgh Upright pattern. Bishops are portrayed by camels, and rooks as elephants- typical of Indian Export chess sets. The knights are horse heads and significantly bigger than the camels.
