In a very good condition. The black stain is very slightly rubbed, and as the set is hand-carved, there is some variation in the size of the pawns and the bases. There's also one or two natural flaws in the wood. The antique box has a white metal inlay and there is some loss in places to the inlay. Otherwise, very good.
